About

My name is Jaime Vallés, and I’m an artist, graphic designer and filmmaker.  As a BFA graduate from Cornell University with a concentration in drawing and painting, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in the arts. I began by designing publicity materials for the Society of the Educational Arts, a bilingual children’s theater company, and soon became the resident graphic artist for award-winning Off-Broadway producer, Prospect Theater Company.  Most recently, I established Jaime Vallés Design, working as a freelance graphic designer.  Clients include Big Apple Circus, the Flea Theater, and the National Alliance for Musical Theatre.  In addition to the visual arts, I currently perform as a singer with New York City Opera.  In 2006, my brother Tony and I wrote and directed the Spanish language feature film CASI CASI, which was picked up by HBO for distribution on television and DVD.  I was hired at the end of 2012 as the event photographer for the All Star Country Vacation at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I am completely fluent in both English and Spanish, which has helped to broaden my horizons significantly.  I continue to work in both design and film, and plan to complete my second feature film, ANOTHER JONATHAN, in 2013.
